Marisa Rhyne, LVT
Marisa has worked relief with our hospital since the Summer of 2018. She has worked in numerous practices in the DFW area, including general practice, emergency care and specialty practices since graduating from Cedar Valley College in 1998 with her AAS in veterinary technology. She obtained her BAS in veterinary technology through St. Petersburg College in 2008 and is currently working on her Masters in Biomedical Science through the University of Missouri.
She is currently full-time faculty at Cedar Valley College, teaching both online and on-campus in the veterinary technology program, she also fills in as needed in the certified veterinary assistant programs she started in 2012 at UTA & Collin College. She has obtained 2 veterinary technician specialty certifications, one in Emergency & Critical Care in 2006 and the other in Small Animal Internal Medicine in 2009.
She is active in her profession, being a member of NAVTA, VTAT, TVMA, AVECCTN, VECCS, & AIMVT
Outside the veterinary world, she enjoys spending time with her husband of nearly 20 years, her 2 kids and her 6 animals at home (3 cats and 3 golden retrievers). She has always been a cat person and her other hobbies include reading fiction, cooking and watching TV & Movies.
Amanda Murphy, Veterinary Assistant
Amanda is originally from Northern Michigan and currently resides in Carrollton, TX with her husband and 2 cats, Tommy & Abby.
She has always loved animals and realized her passion to work with them a couple of years ago. When in Seattle, she started working as a receptionist in a vet clinic and was eager to learn more! She decided to become a veterinary technician and is currently attending Penn Foster College's Veterinary Technician program and is Fear-Free Certified.
When not working or attending class, Amanda likes to travel with her husband and spend time with family.
Kinsey Eliot, Practice Manager
Kinsey has been in the veterinary field for about 2 decades! She is Level 2 Fear-Free Certified, a member of NAVTA (National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, VHMA (Veterinary Hospital Manager Assocation & VPMD (Veterinary Practice Managers of Dallas).
After working as a technician, she ended up getting her degree in business management, and has gone back to school to work toward obtaining her license as a veterinary technician. She now works hands-on with all the kitties in the practice and oversees the hospital operations. She joined our practice in August 2016 and is excited to share her knowledge of pets such as disease prevention, nutritional needs, convalescent care, or dealing with behavioral issues.
Kinsey's current furry family consists of a Bichon Frise named Elfie, and 3 cats: Raider, Presto Aloysius (pictured) and Notrious C.A.T. She also has a husband and two human children that keep her quite busy. :)
Ulyssa Mendez, Receptionist
Ulyssa joined our team in July 2017. Though she didn't have previous experience in the veterinary industry, she is an animal lover and has embraced vet medicine with open arms.
She has been willing to learn as much as she can about animal care through training and continuing education, to provide our clients with the best customer service possible! She has grown up with dogs but currently has 2 cats named Flocka & Keshia.
Katie Byone, Receptionist
Katie has been with our clinic since April 2019. She is from Baton Rouge, LA and moved to TX in 2017. She graduated Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, where she received her Bachelors in Biological Sciences.
When in high school, Katie started working at a vet clinic as a kennel manager and realized her passion for animals. She loves cats and has owned around 15 in her lifetime! She is thrilled to be working with animals again!
She recently got married and has two cats, Dakota and Esmeralda, and a dog named Max.
She is currently trying to receive a certification in Clinical Laboratory Science through Texas Tech University Health Science Center.
